While I doubt their claims of 1700 MASH energy storage the original Canon batteries were only 1200 and twice the size, they do work fine. The two included Wasabi Power batteries are brand new. There is a Stiffen Haze filter included that I have seen lot of these cameras come with. This camcorder works perfectly except for two things: The lock action of the display when flipping in and out rotation LCD upside down.
The on-board video light isn't the best, but it lights up a room or subject well enough even in complete darkness. The two included mini DV tapes have not been used and are still wrapped. There is a small nylon washer inside the display hinge that just came apart one day which rendered locking action non-functional and while trying to fix that, I accidentally broke switch tells camera LCD has been flipped upside down. Two chargers are included - one that plugs into the camera and another accepts batteries directly is powered from wall.
The buttons on the LCD still work as does itself, it just doesn't pop into place or hold itself closed with much force any longer. Finally, a Fire Wire cable is included which allows PC or Mac software to take control of the camera as well transfer video on tape an SD card something similar. I have unwrapped and used an identical Sony tape with great results in this camcorder.
