I was able to test it and confirm its not working properly by using a universal charger. It still stays in place, but the part that attached it broke. Serial #: 09457182 PARTS ONLY. The inner view finder screen lights up and is black white in color, but it has a bunch of debris on.
There is a battery charger provided, but no. The VHS-C compartment does open up fine and ejects tapes with no issue. This is not on the lens. The rubber port cover has a small piece broken off it.
This camera records video in color, but they can only be viewed black and white through the finder. Once the footage is viewed from another device or converted off of tape it will appear in color. It won't stay powered on long enough to use any of the functions. Its not the exact battery charger it came with, but works to charge batteries for this model of camera if you can manage find them.
